My Journey to being a Life Coach

How did I get here? A journey which began when I was 22 and working as a children’s therapist for a large national charity, with children who had been affected by sexual abuse. I don’t know if Life Coaching was a known concept, or at least I had not heard of it. I knew I enjoyed helping people though. So that is what I have done for my entire career, in the charity sector with different hats on and for people from all walks of life faced with all sorts of issues. 

Discovering My Passion 

During those earlier days in my twenties, I was fortunate enough to be the youngest member of the team, surrounded by a wealth of knowledge from experienced and educated people who were keen to nurture me and share their knowhow and help me to grow. They were inspired to help others and yes it was a difficult issue to work with, but I was inspired every day, and it was through my work with these children that I learned about resilience and recovery and overcoming life’s hurdles. The children I met had being delivered the most harrowing and life changing experiences that they did not deserve, sometimes by trusted adults, closest to them.

My Wobbly Journey  

I married, bought our first house and raised five children, ALL while working full time on my career. I didn’t see it as a career for a long time, I saw it as a necessity, feeding my family and paying the bills. It was not always successfully, sometimes we struggled financially. Sometimes we got things wrong. While facing some truly difficult times I learnt again about overcoming the obstacles we are thrown wanting to find a way up, not to stay down. So, I began a personal development journey through books and CDs and courses and mentors. Along came You Tube and TED Talks and webinars and Instagram. I attended powerful events that changed how I see life and all along this journey I wanted to spread the word. Tell anyone who would listen and show people the light that I had seen.   

Building My Business 

Starting a life coaching business from scratch is both exhilarating and challenging. I am determined to create a space where clients could feel safe, heard, and empowered. I also want to be accessible, both financially and logistically. I will see you on-line no matter where you are. And my target client is anyone with limiting beliefs who has the desire to OVERCOME those limiting beliefs.    

Making an Impact 

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a life coach is witnessing the transformation in my clients' lives. I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, each with their own set of challenges and dreams. Through our collaborative efforts, I have seen my clients break free from self-imposed limitations and embrace a more fulfilling and purposeful life. Their success stories are a testament to the power of coaching and the resilience of the human spirit.
